~~Carrot Global = I just began working with them, but I LOVE the hours they offer. I haven’t seen many companies allowing me to work 9am-11am and 5pm-8pm (Monday-Friday). ((They allow you to work 5am-11am and 5pm-9pm Monday-Friday, but with my other jobs and the hours I’m looking for I chose a slightly lesser schedule)). You are teaching students in Korea (mostly 18+) and the lessons are 10-15 minutes on average. They can be phone calls (VOIP provided), video chat, or an interactive classroom. Getting used to the software and switching between them all can be a bit tricky, but entirely doable. All material is provided for you as well, so you just need to set up and facilitate the actual lessons. The starting pay is $13/hour, which isn’t GREAT for a native speaker with experience, but the working hours can’t be beat as far as I’ve seen. And with such short lessons, you never feel stressed to stretch a class out. They all blow by quite quickly. So if you’re good with tech and good at managing your time, this can be a great opportunity.

Worst company to ever work for if your a degree holder or a aspiring teacher. I want to reiterate that this company is extremely scrupulous. They will demand you work 8 hours but not pay you or offer you the option to get paid for that 8 hours . They set a schedule for you to work based on talking to a student for say – 30 minutes. Once that has ended, then you don’t automatically get to have another student right after to teach to receive your full base pay for the full hour. So they have actually found a way to scam you into thinking your working 8 hours, but you don’t get offered that amount of work. You end up working 5- to 6 hours, and are not getting full basepay of an hours work either. Like working 14 an hour for 8 hours with a lunch break. you work 4 hours if 6 tops and they refer to that as full time. They are making you think you are working but they are consuming your time for less money than you would work at a regular job at a 9-5.
They have deducted more than 60 dollars from my paycheck without due cause during my time working there.
They offer a sub standard treatment for they’r employees, which means they treat them with disrespect and will never ever receive a raise here. Thus, everyone at that company is a native Korean speaker and have no idea of politeness or manners or courtesy or idea of how to improve theyre relations. If you call into to the company, more than likely they won’t be able to understand you. They will send you a chopping email instead.
Having a hard time understand and offering methods to meet our culture halfway, they want you to readily understand and meet the demands of every aspect of they’res immediately .
