TeachCast is currently hiring fun and engaging online instructors to work from home for the next school year (July 2020 – May 2021). Evening, overnight, and morning blocks are available (see below). Pay is $12-14/hour DOE.
As an online ESL instructor, your primary duty is to teach students in an engaging manner. Teachers must be self-driven, energetic, and have a desire to work with people from around the world. We offer small group classes for students from pre-kindergarten through adults. All classes have prepared lesson plans and materials. We are hiring for classes that are in Indonesia, so our paid blocks are slightly different based on which time zone you are in.
Pacific Time Blocks:
Block 1: Sunday- Thursday: 5 pm – 10 pm
Block 2: Sunday- Thursday: 6 pm – 10 pm
Block 3: Sunday- Friday morning: 10 pm – 2 am
Block 4: Sunday- Friday morning: 10 pm – 3 am
Block 5: Monday- Friday: 2 am – 6 am
Block 6: Fridays only: 5 pm – 10 pm

Block 1: Sunday- Thursday: 5 pm – 10 pm

What does training look like?
TeachCast’s training program is about 15 hours and consists of self-study modules and 1:1 and/or small group trainings with your trainer. Training will cover who we are as a company, lesson materials, online teaching, systems, cultural diversity, company policies and procedures, and more. Upon successful completion of training you will be paid a flat rate of $120.

What are the typical working hours?
The majority of TeachCast’s working hours are in the evenings, overnight, and early mornings, seven days a week. This may change over time, but as most of our clientele are in Southeast Asia, we are on their hours.
We currently offer the following blocks. The commitment is through the end of the Indonesian school year which is in May 2021 and we are looking for teachers who can commit to 5 days a week. *Note, blocks will be 1 hour earlier when daylight savings time ends from November through March (Example, 6pm-11pm will become 5pm-10pm from November 1 – March 14)
Will I have a regular teaching schedule?
Yes. We have several blocks schedules to choose from. Typically, blocks are five days a week and four hours long. Schedules are usually for the entire school year, July-May. During the block, classes are added. Teachers are paid for their block schedule, not based on the number of classes they teach.
Classes are generally 50 minutes each and you typically meet with each class one time per week.

Is a teaching certificate required?
No, however, a sub certificate or TESOL or TEFL certificate is required at a minimum. If you do not possess one, TeachCast can help you obtain one.
Online English Instructor Salary and Compensation
- Pay is $12 to $14 an hour depending on the project and experience.
- All teachers are hired as W-2 Employees, and paycheck are delivered bi-weekly via direct deposit into your bank account.
