We revamped the old search function in favour of the new style search that you will find on advanced websites. Unlike with the old search, you will still be able to see the search criteria next to the results. It should save you a lot of time and heartache as well.
One of the main issues that we tried to solve is the amount of data available for a school. The way to resolve this was to add a rating to each one. You will see this as a slider named “Available Information”. Setting it to 1 is less reliable while five is highly reliable. Putting it at 3 is your best bet.
Next is the list of schools based upon if it is from China, North America, European, Korean, and other parts of the world. The create-a-profile is also listed here as well.
After that, you will see a section for accent with the categories that we believe will be the most useful. Keep in mind, that schools make exceptions from time to time when it comes to accents. We did our best with the information that we have.
After that, you will see the minimum amount per hour in USD. Fluctuations will occur when currencies go up and down, and due to schools hiring both native and non-native at different rates.
The next two selections are for college degrees and certification. We try our hardest to figure out a solution for schools that state if you do not have a degree a certificate is acceptable and vice versa. Adding in either might have solved the problem, but we found it best to leave it as is.
Next, is the star ratings. We pull in a lot of data from multiple sources to come up with a reliable score for each school. One of the most reliable sources is our Facebook group. So thank you to everyone, again, and again.
Lastly, we added a selection for the schools that allow you to teach other languages. We realise that many of you are bilingual, so we wanted to add this to the available criteria.
We have Advanced Mode and Simple Mode for you to use. There is also a free-form search as well on the top of each that searches only in the schools.
This is in test mode for the moment, so please do try it out and let us know your feedback. Once we get to the point where we feel it is stable, we will create a video and help guide.
Thanks again to all of you who wrote reviews and gave feedback for each of the schools. We have more to come in 2018 we will develop further solutions to make it easier for you to find a job.
P.S. We are still adding in and indexing more schools. If you have any suggestions or would be so kind to create a review, we would sincerely appreciate that.
