Abroad ESL Teacher Job Description
Introduction
GKI has been striving to be a foundation stone for English education which is an indispensable tool for the children who will take the leading part in the future society.
Under the EFL(English as a Foreign Language) environment in Korea, students are introduced to English in a welcoming environment with story books, textbooks and multimedia. GKI provides an ESL(English as a Second Language) situational education environment to students to maximize the effect of English education.
GKI program is designed to encourage children to think, express, and search in English all without losing an interest in the language
All classrooms have a flat screen TV and Google cast. The teachers are assigned tablets to use in the classroom to assist both the teacher and student daily. Multimedia tools will enhance the teacher’s ability to educate and connect with the students for a more effective teaching.

Abroad ESL Teacher Job Requirements

1. University Diploma*Your degree must be B.Ed/BA/BS. (Teacher’s Certificate, B.A or M.A in English or TESOL/TEFL/CELTA certificate is preferred)
*Only notarizes and apostilled copies will be accepted by Immigration.
2. Criminal Background Check*The criminal record checks are valid for 6 months from the date of issue.
*It has to be apostilled by the government of your country.
3. Health Statement*Simply fill out the health questionnaire which will be sent to you by a hiring manager of GKI.
*This questionnaire asks about serious medical condition like HIV or TB.
*Right after you arrive in Korea, a full physical examination and blood test will be administered at a local hospital.
4. Passport and Passport sized Photos*All applicants must have a valid passport with a minimum of six months remaining before expiration.
*Photocopy the information pages of your passport.
*You need 4 copies of a standard ID photo, 3.5 x 4.5cm, in color with a white background.
Abroad ESL Teacher Salary and Compensation
As an instructor you will be paid 2.4 to 2.8 million won per month. (Depending on your teaching schedule, experience, and qualifications) You will work basically 30 hours a week, Monday through Friday only. There is no Saturday school at GKI. You will be also paid 22,000 – 25,000won / hour as an over time teaching payment if you teach more than 120 hours per Session. (20 working days a month)

We are an established Private English School specializing in education for Kindergarten and Elementary school-aged children with about 20 native teachers.
GKI has been in operation since 1995 with the same owner.
GKI has a great reputation in the neighborhood. The elementary curriculum is prepared for the teachers and is supplemented with multimedia tools in the classroom. (Each classroom has a flat screen TV. Teachers are assigned notebooks/tablets to utilize in the classroom.) Kindergarten leaves room for the teacher to be more creative, choosing weekly lessons/songs/art around the supplied theme. Because of this, families often send all of their children to GKI over the years which makes for a nice, comfortable community around the school and Songpa.
