I don’t know what their issues were back in 2017, but they are currently not paying teachers. I started working for them during the early part of 2020, and they did pay. Though curious enough how they paid you, and new policies became odd and erratic. For instance if you had appointments you were initially paid for no-shows. Then during the first week of March they happily sent a mass email stating they weren’t going to do that anymore and they were switching to payoneer. (they originally paid by paypal e-check). They made sure the payoneer process took a long time to set up, so they could delay payments.
I also woke up to a nightmare mid march. They had cut a popular region off, and had got rid of the messaging feature between students and teachers. They claim that students have abused it. Actually they have it backwards and they abused the system. It looks like they are facing legal trouble. Doesn’t make sense that they are okay with blocking certain areas that brought in a lot of students. Now most of the students are gone.
During the first week of May, without telling me they switched back to the paypal echeck. When I asked why they were doing this, especially without telling me they said payoneer has new policies (yeah you actually have to have funds to pay people). When I checked when my payment from paypal would clear, I saw they cancelled it. They lied and said they couldn’t understand what was going on. I emailed them the proof from a paypal transcript that states they made a point of calling to cancel the payment. They responded with silence. I doubt they’ll pay me on their own. I guess I’ll have to go to the paypal escalation center, and/or start a lawsuit myself. Unless you want to work for free, stay away.
